In Wellendorff’s workshop, creativity and the craftsmanship of experienced master goldsmiths come together in a unique way. Their skilled hands and precision create special pieces of jewellery. These limited editions are even more exclusive and precious.
Inspired by the return of the British crown colony of Hong Kong to the People’s Republic of China, the first limited-edition ring of the year was created in 1997. Since then, the goldsmiths have been creating an exclusive collectors’ ring every year. The number of pieces created for each limited-edition ring relating to the respective year: the 2024 ring of the year, for example, is limited to 224 pieces worldwide.
“Once you have reached your 125th anniversary, every year deserves to be celebrated.”
These words were expressed a few years ago by a close friend of the jewellery manufactory. Since then, each year Wellendorff’s goldsmiths have been creating three special rings made of 18-karat gold boasting new designs and technical refinements. The number of pieces created for each limited-edition ring reflects the anniversary that is being celebrated. This is great news because it means that the number of limited-edition rings goes up by one every year.
Since 2019, the jewellery manufactory has also been designing exclusive anniversary rings for men, with the number of pieces created reflecting the anniversary that is being celebrated. These rings are extraordinary in terms of the goldsmithing techniques used and in terms of their names. The anniversary ring for 2024, for example, is called “4-752”. “752” stands for Wellendorff’s signature over-alloying of the gold, always by two additional parts; “4” indicates that this is now the fourth consecutive limited-edition men's ring to be created.
Building on the tradition of limited-edition rings of the year, each year the Wellendorff goldsmiths also create a jewellery piece of the year: an exquisite piece of jewellery for the greatest jewellery connoisseurs worldwide. To commemorate the creation of the famous silky-soft Wellendorff rope in 1977, each year’s pieces of jewellery are limited to the number of years that have passed since then. Wellendorff enthusiasts are offered an exclusive chance to discover the jewellery piece of the year in a unique, celebratory setting.
Wellendorff’s goldsmiths also create precious and sought-after unique editions - one-of-a-kind pieces that exist nowhere else in the whole world! For which, selected gemstones and 18-karat gold are masterfully combined to create a unique work of art that attracts everyone’s attention.
